The institute is located in southeast Ventura on Ix. Once inside you will need to find Aurelius Venport in one of the labs, he will tell you what he needs. 

Hint: Find a Computer Technician. They have an item that will be of great use.

This quest yields 3 qp and some experience.

Before starting this quest, check you have 100 in repair weapons/armour (skill trainer is west from caladan AP)

Ix AP: 

      e, 2s, w, request transit, enter module, push button 2,
      
       e, 2s, 5e, 2s, w, tunnel (wait untill it appears), s, enter

Venport: 

      2s, max w, up, e, s, w

You have to find 10 items (they are laying around the institute, near Venport and in the basement area):

    Streaming datawave processor.
    A polymathematics chip.
    Hypervariable calibrator.
    Light modulator.
    A progressive incrementer.
    A photon transducer.
    An on/off switch.

There are some elevators in the basement. 'say activate' to move between floors.

3 items you have to get from killing patrollers and drones. 
Salvagable things you can repair using a repair toolkit which is carried by one of engineers (1st of 2nd floor, the west side)

    This Ixian transistor. (A salvageable processing unit??) repaired becomes An operational transistor
    Plasmeld casing (A salvageable plasmeld casing) repaired becomes An operational casing
    Circuit board. (A salvageable circuit board) repaired becomes 

When you find all the parts, don't give them individually to Venport, just 

      'return parts to venport'
