To ensure that the Fremen values and rules are upheld, the Sietch needs leadership. These leaders are called Elders. While different elders have different titles according to their roles, each elder is just as important as the others, with the possible exception of the Naib. The Naib is the most important member of the sietch, as he or she leads it spiritually and politically, both directly and through the actions of the elders. The primary role of the elders is to carry out the will of the Naib with whatever resources they have available to them. Their wise counsel aids his leadership. The Elders answer to the Naib (and the Planetologist), and should be treated with respect. The current leaders are: Akar, Amenophis, Flint, Irekahn, Master, Sux, Tyto, and Twist.
