ghelp FAQ

Q. Where do I start?

A. As a newbie Atreides, to gain access to many things the guild has to offer you (including advancing past guild level 20), you will need to 'pledge' your allegiance to the guild (see 'ghelp pledge'). Once this is complete, it's highly recommended to apply for a guild loan at the guild bank (up from the main guild hall) so you can foot some of your starting expenses. Solaris (and experience) are pretty important early on, since your gskills rely on the two. The order that they max them in may vary, but the most common order is Powerwords, Fury, Weirding Way, Battlelore and lastly Counterstrike and Prescience.

Q. How can I get a loan?

A. To apply for a guild loan, head to the Atreides Guild Bank, which is located up and north of the main guild room. There is a message board in this room, which you will post a note to requesting a monetary amount of guild funds. A ranking guild officer will either approve or deny your request in a reasonable amount of time. You can also enter the 'instructions' command in this room for a more detailed breakdown of how it works. Please keep your requests reasonable, and keep in mind you will have to repay the balance to the guild at some point.

Q. How does my shieldbelt work?

A. Type shieldbelt to see some stats about it, how much energy it has, damage absorption etc.

You turn your shieldbelt on with shieldbelt basic or off with shieldbelt off.

After you have upgraded your shieldbelt a couple of times you get more commands to it, blast, irradiate and shock.

Blast deals a hefty amount of damage to whomever you are fighting but also to you, so atleast 50% health is recommended, irradiate deals a little less damage (and none to you) but ignores armour, shock is similar to irradiate but it can't be dodged.

The shieldbelt has a set amount of energy, that when depleted the belt stops working. It however converts energy to kinetic energy which is used for the three commands.

Using blast requires that you have at least 500 kinetic energy and after blasting the belt is fully recharged again.

The shieldbelt recharges (and looses kinetic) automatically when not fighting.

Q. What stats are important?

A. The most important stats for Atriedes to train are STR, INT and WIS. Most of you gskills rely on these stats for effectiveness, as well as the overall amount of guild experience you will receive while in combat.

Q. What are prestiege points?

A. Prestiege points are used to raise your gskills over the maximum of 100. The amount of prestiege points used is dictated by the difficulty of training, according to 'gskills'.

Q. How often will I get honor points?

A. You will recieve an honor point for every 15 glvls you achieve. Therefore, you will recieve one at glvl 15, one at glvl 30, and so on. Honor points are extremely beneficial to your guild performance, aka gexp rate.

Q. What are some good specializations?

A. The most common gskills to specialize are typically Wierding Way, Battlelore, Fury or Counterstrike. Adding extra trains to these gskills is always a great idea.

Q. What's with all the subguilds?

A. Atreides has 3 different subguilds, each with their own unique flavor. It's up to you to join and find out which one you like best, and the guild allows you to change your subguild once every week. Each subguild has their own special gskills, and two of them have unique weapons that you can get from Thufir Hawat. Join one today!

Good luck, and welcome to the Atreides Guild!

ATREIDES! ATREIDES! ATREIDES!
